Chocolate cloud cake

The best chocolate cake without flour. I called it 'cloud cake', but it is rather muddy than cloudy. This cake is even better than chocolate itself because of soft and moist consistence. It almost melts in mouth.

Ingredients:
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 egg whites
  • 300g of dark chocolate
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 200g of butter
  • 100g of sugar
If you prefer to have weight in ounces, simply use this converter.

Preheat the oven to 180C. Melt the chocolate and butter in a pot, add sugar, leave untill it's colder. Beat the egg whites and egg yolks in different bowls, mix together. When the chocolate is in room temperature, mix everything very carefully. Add milk. Bake in a round baking tray about 12-15 minutes.

Cake grows while baking, but flattens later. For the decoration I used a stencil and icing sugar. I decorated it in this way because the cake is as soft as kitty feet.

It is my own recipe so I'm curious if you'd like it too! Tell me if you tried it :)

  2. Many thanks to you Julia! I made up your Chocolate Cloud Cake this afternoon to serve at a family celebration this evening. I even placed a few pansies on top in honor of your generousity. But let it be known...this cake requires no extra decorations to boost it's worth as the taste alone is pure delight! natalie jo
