Reversible headband (for cold, almost winter days)

I have big problems with finding proper headgear for late Autumn days. Caps are often too warm, they also make my hair look messier than usual! This is the reason I prefer headbands for this period of year. I was searching for my perfect headband online, but (as usual) didn't find anything. Again, I was forced to make my own;) If you also want to make your custom (and reversible!) headband, here's a tutorial!
*
Byłam więc zmuszona do zrobienia swojej. Jeśli też chcecie zrobić własną opaskę ( i to dwustronną!), zapraszam do instrukcji!

You'll need: a piece of knitted fabric cut out from an old sweater (measurements: your head circumference +2cm * width of your choice), a piece of elastic fabric in the same dimensions, small pieces of this fabric that will create a 'bow look' (about 5*8cm), scissors, sewing machine/thread and needle.
*
Będziecie potrzebować: prostokąta wyciętego ze starego swetra (wymiary: obwód głowy +2cm * wysokość, którą chcecie uzyskać), taki sam prostokąt z elastycznego materiału, dwa małe prostokąty z tych materiałów (wymiary ok. 5*8cm), nożyczki, maszyna do szycia/igła i nitka.

(1.) Sew longer sides of fabrics together when the right sides are inside (I added additional layer of white sweater to make a light backgroud for my sheer floral fabric), then (2.) turn it so as the right side is outside. (3.) Sew the shorter sides together. Feel free to make a messy hem, it'll be covered! Gather the hem as i showed in pic (4.). Now repeat the first and second step for two small rectangles (5.). Sew the shorter sides on the headband covering the hem (6.), cut excess fabric and reverse. Tadam, ready!
*
(1.) Zszyj dłuższe brzegi materiałów prawą stroną do środka (dodałam widoczną na zdjęciach warstwę białego swetra, żeby zrobić jasne tło dla prześwitującego materiału w kwiatki), (2.) obróć na prawą stronę. (3.) Zszyj krótsze brzegi (jak umiesz, szew będzie zakryty;p). Przymarszcz opaskę tak jak pokazałam na zdjęciu (4.). Teraz powtórz pierwsze dwa kroki dla dwóch małych prostokątów (5.). Zszyj na opasce zakrywając brzeg (6.), odetnij nadmiar materiału i obróć szwem do tyłu. Gotowe!

This is really easy and you don't need to have sewing skills at all. Remember that it would be also proper thing for early Spring when the weather is similar. Then you can rotate the sides to get a floral look;)  Let me know if you try!
*

{DIY:} Sheer floral gloves for summer

A little sewing project I started last summer (!) but had no motivation to complete. Now as summer is in bloom again I finally managed to end and wear them! It took me very long, because I was discouraged with how much time consuming this project was – I sewn the first gloves in five hours. It sounds impossible even to me now, but it just needed some skills. See the full how-to below.
*

I love the pattern of this fabric and in my opinion these gloves are amazing. Sorry for the messy hairstyle, it was more glamorous when I was going out... Don't believe in pictures that show women riding cabrio with perfect waves on their heads;p

How to start? All you need to have is a sheer elastic fabric you like, scissors, needle and thread. You also need a custom pattern in your size that is easy to make. Put your hand on the fabric and draw the outline of your hand in the way showed below, then cut. Measure of your thumb and also draw a shape similar to this on the right. The circumference of your thimb in its root should be the lenght of the curve at the bottom of the shape. Remember to leave about 3 mm for stitches. You've just made a pattern for one glove!
Jak zacząć? Potrzebujesz przezroczystego rozciągliwego materiału, nożyczek, igły i nitki. Musisz także zrobić swój własny wykrój. Połóż rękę na tkaninie i obrysuj w sposób pokazany poniżej, następnie wytnij. Zmierz kciuk i narysuj kształt pokazany po prawej. Obwód kciuka u nasady to długość krzywizny na dole. Wytnij pamiętając o pozostawieniu około 2-3mm na szwy. Właśnie wykroiłaś materiał na jedną rękawiczkę!

Fold the bigger piece into a half and pin together - you shold get something like a glove for four fingers. Sew the hems together (if you can sew elastic fabric in the sewing machine, feel free to do it this way). Sew also the upper hems of the 'thumb hood'. Now comes the tricky part. Put your hand on the glove and see where the thumb should be, make a small hole there. As the material is elastic you should be able to put the whole glove on and see how much bigger hole you need to feel comfortable with thumb. Cut it, attach the 'hood' with pins and sew the hems together. Done!
*
Złóż większą część na pół i przypnij szpilkami - powstanie coś w stylu rękawiczki na cztery palce. Zszyj brzegi (jeśli umiesz, możesz na maszynie). Zszyj też górne brzegi 'kapturka na kciuk'. Teraz nadchodzi trudniejszy moment. Zobacz ile miejsca jeszcze potrzebujesz by poruszać swobodnie kciukiem i wytnij nadmiar materiału. Przypnij 'kapturek' i zszyj brzegi. Zrobione!

And something for people who wanted to see my handmade skirt on me;)

Summer is still not over and if you want to try something new I'll recommend you some of my previous experimental DIYs: this, this, this, this, this or this. You'll find something suitable for sure;)

Lato wciąż trwa i jeśli chcieliście w tym sezonie zrobić coś, czego jeszcze nie robiliście, polecam Wam moje wcześniejsze eksperymenty: ten, ten, ten, ten, ten lub ten. Każdy znajdzie coś dla siebie;)

Recently I made (1)

It's a new series on TSS. I make a lot of things that I don't show here on the blog because I think they are too small and simple projects. Since today I'll be showing them in one post once for a while!

Sheer skirt. It's made of two pieces of fabric and elastic. I've also sewn gloves from the floral fabric, but I won't show them now, they deserve a separate post!;)
*
Przezroczysta spódnica uszyta z dwóch kawałków tkaniny i gumki.

The very first cream I made in my life! Hyaluronan, rose water and shea butter are the main ingredients. The consistence isn't perfect, but I'm really proud anyway!
*

Berry and nutella ice-cream -  I used recipe from here (second one), but replaced cherries with fresh berries we picked while being in the countryside. Nutella ice-cream idea is from Handimania. Both kinds of ice-cream were made without using ice-cream machine.
*
This one you've seen. New biscuit-like blog look!
To już widzieliście. Nowy, biszkoptowy wygląd bloga!

Have you done some little projects lately? Write in comments, I'd love to see them!
Robiliście ostatnio rzeczy w tym stylu? Podzielcie się w komentarzach, z chęcią zobaczę!

Spring etsy update!

I've been waiting a while to announce it officially. Here it is! The etsy update. Although these things might look simple, designing, sewing and taking pictures took me about 3 months. I decided not to hurry and it was a good decision. Hope you like the results! You can find it all here.

Czekałam, by oficjalnie ogłosić ponowne otwarcie sklepu. Możecie znaleźć to wszystko tu.

Lavender sachets - final version

Sachets are ready and I like the way they look. I'm currently obsessed with finding other usage of flowers (instead of decorative function of course, that's obvious). Any ideas?:)

Wish you a beautiful day,
Julia
