My favourite were monday and friday smoothies. The first one had very... feminie taste. The combination of raspberries and floral scent is mind blowing! Friday smoothie had very common ingredients and I didn't expext miracles, but in this proportion the taste is much muuuch better than the one you know as "apple, peach, carrot" from the shops.
How I feel after this week? Well, I should already be ill. And I'm not.
I liked very much this experiment so I decided to continue drinking smoothies two weeks more. I wholeheartedly encourage you to make your own week for health and to experiment with taste. Have fun!

Recently I made (2)

Recently I made is a new series on TSS. I make a lot of things that I don't show here because I think they are too small and simple projects. I'll be showing some of them in one post once for a while.
 *
Recently I made to nowa seria na TSS.

You've probably seen this pin on pinterest before... I needed to have a blouse like this! I don't know the source of this picture and couldn't find any instructions, so here you have. This is a 3 minutes DIY and all you need to do is cut out the shape showed above in a cotton blouse. It doesn't get destroyed while washing!
*
Pewnie część z Was widziałam to zdjęcie już wcześniej... musiałam mieć taką bluzkę!

While being in Tuscany I've been preparing a lot of delicious food. Just look at prosciutto  e melone...
Będąc w Toskanii przygotowywałam masę dobrego jedzenia. Tylko popatrzcie na prosciutto e melone...

Remember that at the beginning of June I made soap? It's ready to use now! Just because I didn't add anything to it before, I mixed one part of liquid soap, one part of herbal brew and one spoon of vinegar. Now I use it as shampoo or body wash.
*

Avocado & gooseberry ice-cream recipe {for vegans and non-vegans}

Hello, I'm back from Tuscany! Before I'll pick some photos to show you, here's a recipe for my recently favourite ice-cream. I've never  thought that good ice-cream without cream can actually exist. But here it is. Recipe for a delicious, easy  and healthy (rich in vitamins, fiber, folic acid, good fats...) dessert that you can additionally call vegan (if you want). Avodaco is a great replacement for cream!
*
Ale oto i on.

Ingredients: 2 peeled avocados (about 270g), 50g sugar, 220g gooseberries, (1 egg yolk - optional), 1 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice. How to prepare: put avocado, sugar, lemon juice and egg yolk (if you use, it's not needed because avocado gives really perfectly creamy consistence) into a blender. Mix until the mass is perfectly smooth. Then add gooseberries and mix just a little bit, leave pips and bigger fragments of gooseberries. Pour the mass into a bowl and and put into a freezer. After a few hours ice-cream is done.

Przelej masę do pojemnika i włóż do zamrażarki. Po kilku godzinach lody są gotowe.

{not only} Strawberry dessert - super easy recipe

This is the easiest dessert in the world. Making it is even easier than baking muffins;) You can add to it fruit of your choice or even a jam if you like.

Instructions: the only thing you need to bake is a crumble. Mix warm butter, sugar and flour in proportions 1:1:2, make a dough. Crumble it over a tin and put into oven that is 180°C. After 7-10 minutes it should be ready. Leave to cool.
Everything else you need is sweetened vanilla cream cheese and fruit of your choice (I used strawberries).  Pour the cold crumble at the bottom of a glass until it's about 1/5 full. Then put the cream cheese and even the surface. Mix the fruit in a blender and pour the mass on the cream cheese surface. Done!

I prepared another version for all of you who have winter now (greetings to Elly from Jazzlips&Tulips!). The top is made of cherry jam. Delicious as well!

Let me know if you tried it.
Have a beautiful day,
Julia

Orange zest & tea cookies recipe

These cookies are just perfect. I like them, because the're crunchy and not to sweet. Szymon likes them because they're sweet and not too crunchy. Sounds impossible, when it comes to baking we like entirely different things but by making these cookies we struck a happy medium.

Ingredients: 2 cups wheat flour, 2 spoons of fragmented tea leaves, 230g butter, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 big spoons of candied orange zest.
In a blender mix butter until it's white and soft. Gradually add sugar. Mic four, tea and orange zest, add to the butter mass. Make a dough roll about 3 cm thich, put into the fridge for about 30 minutes. After this time slice the roll (slices must be about 4mm thick). Put the slices on a baking tray and bake for 12-15 munutes in 180ºC.

Chyba nie muszę go nikomu przedstawiać.

Chocolate day

Today I finally managed to meet up with some of my friends. We spent the whole afternoon on cooking, baking and watching TV series. We made chocolate brownies from this recipe.
It was just one of many silly days in my life, I think I've never share one on the blog before though.
NOTE: All of these happy faces are caused by chocolate!

Sesame (and flax) seed candy recipe

I wanted to try making easy and healthy (for hair and skin.... and everything else) snack. Adding flax seeds to sesame candy recipe turned out to be a great idea! It's crunchy and tasty. It also looks more attractive, there's nothing to want more.
*

Ingredients: 125g sesame, 125g flax seed, 1 cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 tablespoon honey. (You can use fried or fresh seeds, I used fresh and it was pretty tasty though!).
In a pan mix sugar and lemon juice, set a low heat. Wait until the sugar is caramelised, then add all other ingredients and mix. Now you have to act quickly: put the candy between two sheets of baking paper, roll and cut rectangles when the candy is still warm. Done!
*
Składniki: 125g sezamu, 125g siemienia lnianego, szklanka cukry, 2 łyżki soku z cytryny, łyżka miodu (Można użyć też prażonych nasion, ja użyłam surowych i też było smaczne!).
W garnuszku wymieszaj cukier i sok, ustaw na mały ogień. Poczekaj aż cukier się skarmelizuje, potem dodaj resztę składników i wymieszaj. Teraz działaj szybko: rozlej masę na arkusz papieru do pieczenia, przykryj drugim, rozwałkuj i pokrój na prostokąty gdy jest wciąż ciepła. Koniec!

Gingerbreads this year

It's over Christmas fever now but I must admit I still bake gingerbreads. It's such a relaxing activity, you can spend hours on making them, creating new shapes and using your imagination and it feels like it was just a few minutes. Do you like it too? I'd love to see your gingerbreds.

Gingerbread house was for Szymon, the rest we baked together. I love that the dough didn't 'melt' in the oven and the shapes remained as they had been formed (the're just slightly bigger).
*
Też to lubicie?

Liebster Blog Award - 11 facts about me

Keely Jade nominated me to this and I must say big thank you! This award is given by bloggers to other bloggers whose blogs are considered as up-and coming.
11 Questions:

1) Are you afraid of the dark?
Sometimes. When I think that a spider might be in my bedroom. Or anywhere else in my house.

2) What movie or song makes you cry?
"The call" by Regina Spektor (one of my beloved singers) in the movie "Prince Caspian" (you know, Narnia). Beautiful melody, melancholic voice and words. You can say both song and movie make me cry like a child.

3) Favourite comfort food?
Have you ever heard about pierogi? (If not, read the link.) It's my favourite! Of course they're the best when my granny makes them!

4) If you could live anywhere, where it would be and why?
Here! I love the place I live. Suburbs of a big city, but still close to the forest where I would play when I was a child. But IF I had a possibility of having one more house, it would be in Italy.

5) Favourite item of clothing?
Dresses. Classic, simple dresses. I hope one day I'll have them all:

6) What do you do to cheer yourself up on a rainy day?
I play with my cat. I do any activity I like - sketch, sew, bake etc.

7)  Do you believe in ghosts?
Hard question. Sometimes.

8) Favourite book?
The chronicles of Narnia! Timeless story with various meanings. Just read the dedication:
My Dear Lucy,
I wrote this story for you, but when I began it I had not realized that girls grow quicker than books. As a result you are already too old for fairy tales, and by the time it is printed and bound you will be older still. But some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.
9) Do you have a childhood item that you'll never throw away?
No, probably not. I had a lot of teddy bears for a long time, but someone else is playing with them righ now.

10) Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
I see myself as an optician or a scientist! Or still a DIY-maker. Can't decide. I don't have special plans, life will decide about everything.
11) Why do you like to blog?
Because I can show things I create. I don't blog because I started and now I have to - what you see here is the result of my work or rather hobbies.

Have a beautiful day,
Julia

The best thing about cold days is that you can finally do something with frozen raspberries that are in your freezer. These brownies have a special function, they brighten up long cold evenings! Chocolate and raspberries, this combination is the best of the best. Just think about it. Yum.

This time I want to give you the recipe in a different way. Here you have two pages from my sketchbook! I hope everything is readable.

cream: 2 cups of raspberries, 130g butter, 3/4 cup of sugar

Lavender in the kitchen: lavender syrup + ice-cream

Hello friends, did you notice it's lavender season again?! As I made lavender sachets last time, this time I decided to make something entirely different. Have you ever used lavender in the kitchen? If not, you should try it for sure. This is the last time to do it this year, so don't wait!

For the lavender syrup you'll need: 1/2-1* cup of fresh lavender flowers, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 2 cups of water, 1-3/2 cup of sugar* (*-depending on your taste). Pour lavender into a pan with hot water, leave until it's cold. Then add sugar and boil together until the mixture is combined well. At the end add lemon juice (the syrup will change colour from grey/lavender to the one you see in the pictures). Sieve the lavender - you need to have a clear syrup. Done!

If you want to make lavender ice-cream, replace the sugar with the lavender syrup in your favourite basic ice-cream recipe. My ice-cream contained some homemade vanilla extract too (worth recommendation! I'll probably share the recipe soon). The ice-cream taste the best with a piece of apple pie or baked apples. Notabene, Szymon made the prettiest baked apple for me, it looks like my kitty! Timon (this is finally his name, probably) approves!

By the way, he's falling asleep on my legs right now.
Have a beautiful day,
Julia

Today in pictures

Cookie Monster cookies with chocolate in the morning - best thing in the world.

Room redecoration in progress - this wall is not painted yet, but I already adore it!

Wearing white and sheer tunic was the only right solution to survive today. Lace and the little frame are my recent flea market finds. Deer and pansy (sketched on the rubber) will be stamps soon:)

Favourite small pansies in full bloom (seeded this year).

How about your day?

{Cherry cherry lady} ice cream recipe

Recently I've been making ice-cream almost everyday. Making ice ream often in on my list, but I made something more - I started experimenting with different recipes and already have one that I like the most. Basic recipe comes from a cookbook I got with  ice-cream machine and originally it's strawberry ice cream recipe.

Served with a chocolate cookie and cherry syrup makes a perfect dessert!
 Basic recipe I started with:
200g (7 oz.) fresh cherries (stoned)
70g (2 1/2 oz.) sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 egg yolk
175cc (6 1/4 fl. oz) milk
50 cc (1 3/4 fl. oz) cream
Puree cherries with the lemon juice and the milk. Beat the egg yolk with sugar. Whip the cream until almost stiff. Combine it all making sure everything is thoroughly mixed. Put into ice-cream machine or freezer.

What I've changed?
Mainly proportions, units (everything in grammes), replaced lemon juice with sour cream and generally my recipe makes a bigger portion. And of course for me this one is better.

My recipe:
250g fresh cherries (stoned)
70g sugar
140g cream
100g sour cream
1 big egg yolk
Puree cherries with the sour cream. Beat the egg yolk with sugar. Whip the cream until it's stiff. Combine and put into ice-cream machine or freezer.

NOTE: Both mixture have very good consistency and ice-cream machine is not really needed. I tried making both simply putting to an ice-cream mould and to the freezer and they were as delicious as those made in the machine. I encourage you to try both (as we have cherry season now) and decide which one is better for you!

NOTE2: If the mixture has too intensive taste for you, you can change it by adding some water to it. I tried, it works that way too.

NOTE 3: I really enjoy my summer list. It encourages me to make much more than I wrote down everytime.

Have a beautiful day,
Julia
